Questions, answered.
How do I get into the beta?
Hit “Request access” and fill out the short form. It’s a closed beta with limited spots, so we review requests and approve new players in waves. Access isn’t guaranteed, but we’re opening up steadily.
Is it allowed? Will I get banned?
Matchlock is a read-only app built on game event data. It never reads memory or modifies the game, so it doesn’t interfere with play.
How is this different to a mod?
Mods change the game itself, often by modifying files or behaviour. Matchlock doesn’t change anything. It runs as its own app outside Deadlock and reads the game event feed, so the game plays exactly the same with or without it.
What do I need to run it?
A Windows PC and Deadlock. Once you’re in the beta, install once and Matchlock is ready on your next launch.
Do I need to have Overwolf installed?
No. Matchlock is built standalone, but runs the Overwolf service in the background to read live game data. It’s all bundled into the installer, so there’s no separate Overwolf client to install or sign into.
Does it affect game performance?
No. Matchlock is a lightweight app that runs alongside Deadlock. Performance is something we work on every release, so it stays fast as the app grows.
How is my data handled?
Matchlock stores the matches you play while it’s running and the details you share when requesting access. Nothing is sold or shared. The privacy page has the full breakdown.
